Tucson, AZ - Saint Mary's golfer, Chadd Cocco posted a third round score of 77 (+5) at the NCAA Men's Golf Western Regional from the OMNI Tucson National Golf Course. Cocco finished the 54-hole event with a total score of 221 (+5), tied for 88th place, following rounds of 72, 72 and 77 from the 7,200-yard par-72 golf course.
Cocco entered the final round at even par and tied for 57th place in the individual competition. Cocco, who needed to shot a low number to advance, started on the 10th hole and posted a birdie four on the par five to get his round started right. He would improve to two-under with a birded on the par-5 15th hole, but a double bogey on the 18th hole dropped Cocco back to even par for the round and the tournament.
On his 10th hole of the day, Cocco dropped another shot with a bogey five. He answered on the par-5 second hole, his 11th of the day, with his third birdie of the round to get back to even par overall. Cocco bogeyed the third, and then dropped two shots on both the par-4 fifth and the par-3 seventh. Pars on the final two hole had Cocco in the clubhouse at 5-over par for the tournament.
