USD Golfers Tied For 3rd With One Round To Go At Del Walker Intercollegiate

(Long Beach, CA) - The USD Toreros find themselves tied for 3rd place with one round to go at their season-opening Del Walker Intercollegiate being played at the Virginia Country Club (par 71; 6,633 yards). San Diego has a two-round total of 573 (283-290) and currently trails Saint Mary's (569) and Arkansas (569). Junior Joe Panzeri, a first year performer with USD who transferred in from the University of Washington, carded San Diego's best two-round score of 140 (68-72). His two-under total trails two players from Texas-San Antonio who share the lead at 139 (Kyle Collins and Thomas Kearney). Rounding out USD's scores was Darin Hall (T12th at 143; 72-71), Mike Barry (T19th at 144; 71-73), Dale Smith (T32nd at 146; 72-74), and Brian Phan (T62nd at 151; 73-78). Kenneth McCready, playing as an individual for USD, carded at 151 (75-76). Heading into tomorrow's final round USD is tied with Texas-San Antonio at 573 and is just four shots off the lead. Fourteen teams are competing in the tournament.
