(Reno, NV) - For the second consecutive tournament the USD men's golf team turned in a strong final round to move up in the final standings. The Toreros shot a final round team score of 289 to place 3rd overall (870) in the 19-team Wolf Pack Classic being hosted by the University of Nevada. Arizona (850) was the only team to shoot a better final round score (285) to help overtake Iowa State (866) for the title.
USD's Darrin Hall finished at 213 (73-70-70) to finish in a tie for 6th. Mike Barry fired a final round 69 and placed in a tie for 8th at 214. Blake Trimble also turned in a solid final round with 70 to finish at 217, good for a tie for 17th overall. Rounding out USD's scoring was Jake Yount (t-64th; 227).
Arizona's Tyler Neal (210) edged out John Baranco of Boise State (211) and Tom Whitney of Air Force (211) for medalist honors.
