LONG BEACH, CALIF. - USF completed competition at the Del Walker Invitational Friday with a third round team score of 295. For the tournament, the Dons shot 885 and finished 12th.
Following an opening round where he shot two over par (73), junior Kurt Nino recorded back-to-back 70-shot rounds. Nino finished the tournament in 16th-place, even with par.
Arizona's Roberto Galletti was the individual winner recording a 204 (71 - 66- 67), nine under par, during the two days. Colorado State's Bryce Hanstad (69 - 71 - 68) and San Jose State's Stephan Stallworth (68 - 68 - 72) tied for second as both amassed 208 shots.
Colorado State won the team title with round scores of 276, 284 and 281 (841; -11). Pacific came in second, just one stroke behind the Rams, collecting a final score of 842, 10-under par. In third place was Saint Mary's. The Gaels finished eight under par with a score of 844.
The Dons' next tournament is the Turtle Bay Intercollegiates to be held November 5 - 7 in Turtle Bay, Hawaii.
