Las Cruces, NM - The Loyola Marymount men's golf team posted a final round of 288 at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate at the New Mexico State University Golf Course in Las Cruces, N.M., on Tuesday. The Lions finish with a three-round 859, good for sixth place in the 17-team field.
LMU was three strokes better than Louisiana-Monroe and three stokes behind Ball State, who finished fifth thanks to a 279 in their final round. Texas Tech won the tournament with an 831. UT-Arlington, Nevada and Kansas State round out the top-five.
Freshman John Lim and junior Brian Locke paced the Lions with scores of 71 on the final day. Locke finishes with a 211, good for a tie at 13th place. Lim adds yet another top-20 finish to his young resume with a 213, good for a tie at 20.
Senior Jason D'Amore finished with a 215 and in a tie for 29th. Juniors Bryan Martin and Greg Moss tied each other at 63rd with final scores of 224. Moss posted a 72 in the final round to move up 17 spots.
The Lions head to the Hawaii Fall Intercollegiate next week.
