SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego men's golf team, under the direction of fourth-year head coach Tim Mickelson, will play host to the 2007 Callaway Golf Invitational presented by The Farms Golf Club, this coming Monday and Tuesday.
The 15-team field will tee off beginning on Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start. 36 holes will be scheduled for Monday, with the final 18 holes slated for Tuesday morning beginning at 7:30 am. Arkansas, Cal Poly SLO, Colorado State, Denver, Long Beach State, Nevada-Reno, San Diego State, San Jose State, Santa Clara, Saint Mary's, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara and the University of Texas, Arlington will join USD.
The Farms Golf Club is located in Rancho Santa Fe and is one of the top courses in San Diego. The par-72 layout plays to 6,911 yards with a 73.9 rating and 143 slope. The Farms Golf Club was originally built in 1988 by Pete Dye and later remodeled in 2000 by the team of John Fought and Tom Lehman. The private facility is located in the ruggedly beautiful terrain of Rancho Santa Fe, one of San Diego's most prestigious communities.
First day results will be posted on USD's website Monday evening after the completion of play, as will final results come Tuesday afternoon.
