(San Diego, CA)- The host USD Toreros find themselves in 7th place after first round action of the 2006 Callaway Golf Invitational presented by The Farms Golf Club. USD shot a team score of 300 and find themselves in the middle of the pack of this fifteen team event. San Diego State leads with a 292 and is followed by Cal (296), Saint Mary's (297), Loyola Marymount (297), San Jose State (299) and UC Davis (299). USD's Michael Barry carded the team's best round of 72 (36-36). He was followed by Bucky Coe (8th, 73), Jimmy Harris (18th, 75), Jake Yount (59th, 80) and Luke Antonelli (74th, 83).
Five players carded sub-par scores - LMU's Jason D'Amore (66), SDSU's Andrew Scott (69), Saint Mary's Michael McRae (70), UC Davis' Louie Bishop (71) and San Jose State's Kevin Nabbefeld (71). San Diego's JV Team was paced by Brian Phan (18th, 75). He was followed by Preston Lancaster (59th, 80), Garrett Lipus (59th, 80), Darrin Hall (72nd, 82) and Luke Gaskins (74th, 83).
Second round play was called due to darkness and will be completed Tuesday morning.
