Toreros In 1st Place With One Round To Go

(San Diego, CA) - The host USD Toreros turned in the best team score in second round play to move into the top spot after two rounds of play at the 2006 Callaway Golf Invitational presented by The Farms Golf Club. The Toreros shot a team score of 291 (3-over-par), moving them into first place with a 591 total. Rounding out the top-five is San Diego State (592), Cal (595), San Jose State (596) and LMU (598). For USD in second play the Toreros were paced by Bucky Coe and Jake Yount, each posting even-par 72's. Mike Barry (73) and Luke Antonelli (74) were also solid giving USD its one stroke lead over the SDSU Aztecs. Barry & Coe are both currently tied for 4th overall in the individual standings with 145 totals. LMU's Jason D'Amore continues to lead all individuals with a two-round score of 138 (66-72). SDSU's Andrew Scott (143) and Cal's Michael Wilson (144) are close behind. Final results should be available by 4 pm this afternoon.
