Pilots Finish 10th At Duck Invitational

JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- The University of Portland men's golf team finished in 10th place with a 909 at the 12-team Oregon Duck Invitational on Tuesday. Portland senior Aaron Anderson tied for 31st individually at 8-over par 224 at the par 72, 6,807 yard Shadow Hills Country Club.

San Diego State won the tournament by 12 strokes with a three round total of 854. Nevada shot a final round 282 and moved up to second place at 866, while Oregon State (869), Wyoming (874) and Washington State (874) rounded out the top five.

Washington State's Ryan Witz and Washington's Joe Panzeri, competing as an individual, tied for medalist honors at 5-under par 211.

Portland junior Jake Easterly finished a shot back of Anderson and tied for 36th place overall at 225. Following a first round 309, the Pilots carded a pair of 300's in the second and third rounds.

Portland will next be in action at the Saint Mary's Invitational on April 10-11. The event will be held at Poppy Hills Golf Club in Moraga, Calif.
