San Diego senior Alex Ching is the WCC Men's Golf Player of the Month for March

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- San Diego senior Alex Ching is the WCC Men's Golf Player of the Month for March. Ching competed in three tournaments during the month of March. He won the Fresno State Lexus Classic with a 7-under total of 209 (71-69-69).

Seven of his nine rounds during the month were under par with a low of 64 in the opening round of the Desert Shootout. His scoring average for the month was 70.44 (9 rounds, 634 strokes).

In winning his second tournament this spring, Ching entered the final round of the Fresno State Lexus Classic tied for 4th. In the final round he fired his second consecutive 3-under par 69 to win the event by 4 strokes with a 7-under total of 209 (71-69-69).

At the Desert Shootout on the Palm Valley Golf Course, Ching opened with an 8-under par 64 and closed with rounds of 68 and 71 to finish at 13-under par 203, just one stroke out of first place.
