BREMERTON, Wash. -- After two days of competition, the Saint Mary's men's golf team holds a two-stroke lead over surging San Francisco at the 2013 West Coast Conference Golf Championships at Gold Mountain Golf Club. The Pepperdine golf team remains in first place on the women's side, leading second place Gonzaga by 17 strokes.

Saint Mary's shot a four-over par 292 in round two to remain atop the leaderboard on the men's side. Trailing the Gaels by nine shots heading in to Tuesday, San Francisco shot a 285 in the second round and now sits just two strokes behind Saint Mary's. Pepperdine, who accumulated a team score of 288, is in third place.

Individually, San Diego's Grant Forrest, who was tied for 13th after one day, soared to the top of the leaderboard with a five-under par 67 and is now at -3 after day two of the tournament. Mac McClung of Saint Mary's is one stroke behind in second, while Santa Clara's Gio Gandionco and are BYU's Joe Parkinson are tied for third with a two-day score of 143.

On the women's side, Pepperdine (582, +6) holds a 17-shot lead over second-place Gonzaga. The Waves were paced by Grace Na, who leads the pack after shooting a 70 for the second day in a row to sit at four-under 140 through 36 holes.The Bulldogs accumulated a team score of 301 on day two and were led by freshman Raychelle Santos, who sits in third place with an even-144.

Pepperdine sophomore Alina Ching is two shots off the top spot at -2 (142) after two days of competition. BYU's Lea Garner is in fourth at +4 (148). Rounding out the top five is Pepperdine's Marissa Chow with a +5 (149).

The WCC men's and women's golf teams will conclude the 2013 Championships on Wedneday, April 17th. The first team tees off at 8 a.m. PDT at the Gold Mountain Golf Club.
