Golfers In 7th Place With One Round To Go At WCC Championships

(Coperopolis, CA) - The USD golf team is in 7th place after two rounds of the 2006 WCC Championships being played at Saddle Creek Golf Course. USD shot a 306 team score in the 2nd round for a 613 total, one stroke better than Gonzaga. LMU holds a three-stroke lead at the top (585), followed by Santa Clara (588), USF (590), Portland (600), Saint Mary's (602), and Pepperdine (603). Santa Clara's Michael Nicoletti holds the individual lead at 143 (70-73). USD's Bucky Coe fired a 71 in the 2nd round to move into 9th place overall at 148 (77-71). Coe is followed by Luke Antonelli (T21 at 152; 74-78), Darrin Hall (T24 at 153; 74-79), Jake Yount (39th at 164; 86-78), and Michael Barry (40th at 166; 82-84). Final round play is Tuesday morning.
