2012 West Coast Conference Men's Golf All-Conference Team Announced

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference is pleased to announce the 2012 men's golf individual award-winners and all-conference team, as voted on by the league's eight head coaches. San Diego senior Alex Ching is the WCC Player of the Year for the second year in a row and his teammate, Grant Forrest, is the WCC Freshman of the Year. Saint Mary's Scott Hardy has been voted the Coach of the Year.

Ching, the 2011 WCC Player of the Year, finished second with a score of 208 (-8) at the 2012 WCC Golf Championships in Hollister, Calif. this week. Ching averaged a 70.53 this season and he won both the San Diego Intercollegiate and the Fresno State Lexus Classic.

Forrest is the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year. He tied for fourth with a 211 (-5) at the 2012 WCC Golf Championships.

Hardy led Saint Mary's to its first ever WCC Golf Championship this week. The Gaels tallied a team score of 844 (-20) to finish nine strokes ahead of second-place San Francisco.
