SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has named its Men's Golfer of the Month for April.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE MEN'S GOLFER OF THE MONTH -- CODY MCMANUS, SO. - PEPPERDINE
In April, McManus became the first Wave since 2003 to earn medalist honors at the WCC Championships. He won his first collegiate title after rallying from a four-stroke deficit with four shots to play to edge the 2014 champion by one stroke. The comeback also lifted Pepperdine to its first team title since 2010.
McManus also had a strong tie for 11th place at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational in early April. It was his career-best finish prior to the WCC Championships. McManus now has a streak of five consecutive top-20 finishes (each time placing better than before) and has lowered his season scoring average to 73.77 strokes per round. He averaged 71.83 strokes in six rounds during April, and three of his six rounds were at par or better.
Also Nominated: Grant Forrest, San Diego; Jordan Rodgers, BYU
