Mike McRae will tee-off on the 10th hole at 1:02 PM at Arizona State's Karsten Golf Course on Thursday in the first round of the 2007 NCAA Western Regional Golf Tournament. Following Thursday's first round, McRae will begin the second round on Friday at 8:23 AM at the par-72, 7,057-yard championship Karsten Golf Course. The final round of the NCAA West Regional will begin at 6:30 AM, with tee-times to be determined.

This marks McRae's second appearance in the NCAA West Regional in his three years at SMC. McRae was a freshman on the 2005 when the Saint Mary's golf team competed in the school's first ever NCAA Tournament.

In order to advance out of the West Regional, McRae will have to post the second lowest individual score of a player not advancing with his team. The championship rounds will be played on May 30-2 and the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, Gold Course in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Mike McRae finished the 2006-07 season with a 72.6 stroke average, while playing in all 11 events and all 33 rounds the Gaels participated in. He is currently ranked 182 in stroke average. Out of 33 total rounds, McRae posted four rounds in the 60s, which included a career-low round of 67 in the final round of the Ogio-Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. He had 19 rounds of par or better.

With McRae's selection to the 2007 NCAA Championship, the Saint Mary's golf team will be represented in the last four NCAA Championships. Chadd Cocco was selected as an individual in 2006, the SMC golf team earned an at large berth into the 2005 NCAA Western Regional, and Joe Lanza was selected as an individual in 2004.
