SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University junior golfer Trevor Loe has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 8 men's at-large second team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Loe has a 3.74 grade point average in accounting and becomes the first Gonzaga golfer to earn All-District 8 academic honors. Male student-athletes eligible for at-large recognition must compete in golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo or wrestling.
The native of Sammamish, Wash., finished tied for ninth with teammate Brandon Crick at the 40th annual West Coast Conference Championship this season. He completed the year with a 74.7 stroke average in 27 rounds.
Loe had two other Top 10 finishes this season as he tied for fourth at the Weber State University Purple and Red Invitational and tied for fifth at the University of Idaho Fall Classic. He also tied for 11th at the Wolf Pack Classic hosted by the University of Nevada.
Last summer Loe tied for 21st at the 2006 Seattle Amateur Championship.
