MORAGA, Calif. -- Saint Mary's senior golfer Ben Geyer fired a final round 1-under par 71 to clinch a 4-stroke victory at the NCGA Amateur Stroke Play Championship on Sunday at Poppy Hills Golf Club.

Geyer, a native of Arbuckle, Calif., entered the final round one stroke behind leader Ben Corfee. But, while Corfee struggled to a 9-over 81, Geyer was one of seven of the 43 left in the field to shoot under par. He shot rounds of 70-71-71.

Saint Mary's head coach Scott Hardy finished in a tie for fourth-place after rounds of 72-74-72 for a 2-over final score. Junior Dalan Refioglu finished in a tie for 35th overall after making yesterday's cut.

The win was Geyer's second of the year, which includes the West Coast Conference title he earned last spring. He also advanced to the final of the State Amateur Championship and the first round of the US Amateur Public Links Championship last week.
