Sophomore Golfer Invited to Individual Classic

Los Angeles, CA (Sept. 19) - Sophomore Brian Locke continues to add to his young resume as the 2006 All-American has been invited to play in the 32nd annual Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic in El Paso, Texas, Nov. 19-21. The event is an invitational for the previous season's All-Americans.

Locke became the first All-American for LMU men's golf in 2006 as he earned honorable mention honors. He is one of 34 collegiate golfers to earn invitations to the annual event. Locke led the Lions to its first West Coast Conference title, first trip to the NCAA regionals and first trip to the NCAA championship.

The event begins on Nov. 19 with the practice round, putting contest and drive competition. The actual tournament will take place Nov. 20-21. The tournament is operated by the Sun Bowl Corporation, who organizes the annual Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas.

Up next for the men's golf team in their young 2006-07 season will be the Husky Invitational at the Washington National Golf Club in Seattle Sept. 25-26.
