(San Francisco, CA) - USF men's golf will travel up the west coast to compete at the 2006 Northwest Collegiate Classic, hosted by Oregon State, in Corvallis, Oregon. The tournament will commence on Monday, October 2 with two rounds and end with a final round on Tuesday, October 3 at the Trysting Tree Golf Club.
San Francisco will face a talented collegiate field including Oregon State, College of Charleston, Long Beach State, Oregon, Portland, St. Mary's, San Diego, UC Irvine, Washington State and a few individuals from Washington on the par 72 golf course.
USF has already faced West Coast Conference competitor Portland at the 2006 Red and Purple Invitational September 18-19, finishing 10 strokes in front of the Pilots. The Dons entered final round play in first place but, after a challenging final round, finished seven strokes off the lead at 870 (282, 286, 302). Sophomore Jesse Galvon carded the lowest score for the Green and Gold at 213 (72, 69, 72) good for a share of fourth place.
