BYU's Parkinson named WCC Men's Golf Player of the Month

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference is pleased to recognize its September Men's Golf Player of the Month, Joe Parkinson from BYU.

MEN'S GOLFER OF THE MONTH
JOE PARKINSON, BYU

BYU sophomore Joe Parkinson is the WCC Men's Golf Player of the Month for September. Parkinson finished the month of September in a tie for second place at the Husky Invitational, and tied at fourth at William H. Tucker Intercollegiate. In both tournaments, Parkinson finished as the top player in the West Coast Conference. Parkinson's second round score of 67 was tied for the best score at the Husky Invitational at Gold Mountain Golf Club, site of the 2014 WCC Golf Championships.

At the Tucker Intercollegiate, Parkinson shot a 69 in the final round, which was tied for the second best score of the third round. Overall for the month, Parkinson recorded a 71.33 scoring average, including four of six rounds under-par.
