SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The LMU men's soccer team fell to #14 UC Santa Barbara 1-0 in non-conference action this evening at Harder Stadium. The Gauchos scored the game-winner in the 84th minute. The Lions return to action on Sunday against Cal Baptist, hosting the Lancers at Sullivan Field at 2:00pm.
The contest was scoreless for almost the entire game, but the Gauchos finally broke through late in regulation. Andrew Proctor took an assist from Jeff Murphy for the game-winner at 83:52.
UCSB outshot LMU 11-6, including a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal. Robert Flores made five saves for the Lions. Adam Sloustcher led LMU with three shots, and Diego Souza led the Lions with two shots on goal.
The Lions return to action on Sunday at Sullivan Field, hosting Cal Baptist at 2:00pm.
