(Spokane, WA) - USF men's soccer managed just five shots for the match and dropped a 1-0 decision to No. 29 Gonzaga Friday afternoon in West Coast Conference action at Martin Field. The Dons (6-8-1, 2-5-1 WCC) saw its three match road unbeaten string snapped by the surging Bulldogs (9-3-3, 4-1-3 WCC), who complete the season series sweep.
John Reha tallied the only goal of the match at the 31:03 mark on a feed from George Josten. It was the first scoring strike of the season for Reha.
Gonzaga enjoyed a 14-5 shots advantage, including a 9-2 edge in the first half. Senior defender Daniel DeGeer and sophomore forward Conor Chinn each fired a pair of shots for San Francisco. The Dons only forced Gonzaga keeper Vito Higgins to make one save on the afternoon as he posted his second shutout of USF this season.
Junior goalkeeper Eric Conner collected four saves for San Francisco.
USF returns to action when it plays its final road match of the 2007 regular season Sunday at Portland. Match time against the Pilots is set for 2:00 PM at Merlo Field.
