SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- San Diego senior midfielder Dan Delgado and Santa Clara senior forward Erik Hurtado were selected in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. Hurtado was picked fifth overall by the Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Delgado was selected in the second round, 33rd overall by the San Jose Earthquakes.

Hurtado, the 2012 West Coast Conference Player of the Year, led the WCC with 1.95 points per game. The three-time all-WCC first team selection scored 0.79 goals per game last season, including six game-winners. Former Bronco men's basketball star Steve Nash is a minority owner of the Whitecaps FC.

Delgado, the 2011 WCC Player of the Year, led the Toreros to the 2012 NCAA College Cup Quarterfinals before eventually falling at No. 3 Georgetown. The two-time all-WCC first team selection scored nine goals last season and was named first-team NSCAA All-Far West Region. Delgado joins former Loyola Marymount-standout Rafafel Baca on the Earthquakes.
