Dons Prep For Season Opener With 2-0 Scrimmage Win Over Gators

Aug. 19, 2006

The 17th ranked USF men's soccer team prepped for its August 25th opener vs. Cal with a 2-0 scrimmage win over San Francisco State.

USF played almost its entire squad and got goals from senior Aaron Chandler and Junior College All-American Ardalan Attar in taking the win.

"The team is coming along very nicely," said USF head coach Erik Visser, two-time defending WCC coach of the year. "I was pleased with the new players and the returnees. They all played well together and very well."

USF, two time-defending WCC Champion, has been selected to win the conference again in a poll of its coaches.

USF will face a very difficult schedule that sees the team have just one nonconference home game, that being its home opener vs. Stanford on August 27.
