SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University is ranked in two more national polls, and the Bulldogs also made their first appearance in the Nationals Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas regional poll since 2001 in the latest rankings released today.

Gonzaga is ranked 19th by SoccerTImes.com and 20th in the NSCAA/adidas poll. The Bulldogs are fifth in the NSCAA/adidas Far West Regional rankings, their first appearance in the regional rankings since Nov. 21, 2001, when the Bulldogs were ranked eighth. Gonzaga was in the regional rankings six times during the 2001 season and was ranked as high as fifth.

The Bulldogs made their first appearance in the national polls since 2001 on Monday when they were ranked 12th by Soccer America and 21st by College Soccer News.

The Bulldogs will get their first action as a ranked school against a ranked foe Friday when the Bulldogs face No. 20 (Soccer America) University of Wisconsin Friday in the Panther Invitational hosted by the University of Milwaukee-Wisconsin. Gonzaga meets the hosts on Sunday.

Wisconsin also received votes in the SoccerTimes.com and NSCAA.adidas rankings this week. Friday's match will be the third time in four matches the Bulldogs (2-1-0) will have met a ranked opponent this season. Gonzaga toppled defending College Cup champion and No. 1 UC Santa Barbara 1-0 on the road the opening weekend of the season, then returned home last Friday to down No. 15 University of Washington 2-1, Gonzaga's inaugural win over the Huskies in 20 tries.
