SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University's men's soccer team remains ranked in two polls and dropped into the others receiving votes category in two others following a split last weekend at the Panther Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The Bulldogs lost to the University of Wisconsin, ranked 20th by Soccer America last week and defeated the host Panthers 2-1.
Gonzaga fell from 12th to a tie for 25th with Wisconsin and the University of Washington, a team the Bulldogs beat 2-1, in the Soccer America rankings, and from 21st to 29th in College Soccer News poll. Gonzaga fell into the "others receiving votes" category in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas and SoccerTimes.com polls. Gonzaga was ranked 20th in the NSCAA/adidas poll a week ago and 19th by SoccerTimes.com.
The Bulldogs dropped out of the NSCAA/adidas Far West Regional rankings this week after being fifth a week ago.
This weekend the Bulldogs travel to Corvallis, Ore., for the Stephen Hensor/Joe Zaher Classic hosted by Oregon State University. Gonzaga will face Loyola College of Maryland on Friday and Northern Illinois University on Saturday. Loyola (6-0-0) received votes in this week's SoccerTimes.com and NSCAA/adidas polls.
