Two WCC men's soccer matches on Pac-12 Networks this weekend

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- WCC non-conference men's soccer action resumes on Thursday night when San Diego hosts Cal State Northridge. Two matches will be televised nationally this weekend.


  • Saint Mary's posted two shutouts last weekend en route to the team title at the UNCW Hilton Garden Inn Classic in Wilmington, N.C. last weekend. The Gaels topped host-UNC Wilmington 1-0 on Friday and Appalachian State 2-0 on Sunday.

  • Santa Clara won 2-1 at Stanford on Sunday, halting the Cardinal two-match winning streak. Freshman Ryan Masch scored both goals for the Broncos, earning WCC Player of the Week honors.

  • San Francisco played to a scoreless tie at California last Sunday. Senior goalkeeper Brendan Roslund earned his second shutout of the season. The Dons are on a four-match unbeaten streak.

  • Loyola Marymount will have both of its matches televised nationally this weekend. The Lions will travel to Stanford on Friday and will play at California on Sunday and can be seen live on the Pac-12 Networks.

  • After a week off, Portland returns to the pitch when they face Seattle and Brown this weekend at the Husky Fever Classic in Seattle, Wash. Brown is receiving votes in this week's NSCAA Coaches Poll.

  • Four West Coast Conference men's soccer matches will be televised nationally in 2012. Portland will travel to Santa Clara on Friday, October 26 in a match that can be seen live on FOX Soccer.

  • Visit WCCsports.com each Tuesday for a new edition of the WCC Top Play Tuesday, featuring men's soccer highlights from the previous week.

  • Conference-play kicks off on Wednesday, September 26 when Gonzaga visits Portland at 7:00 p.m. PT. The remaining WCC teams will debut on Friday night.
