SAN DIEGO, Calif. - University of San Diego forward Ciaran O'Brien shared WCC Player of the Week honors after helping the Toreros to big wins on the opening weekend of conference play. O'Brien scored two goals and added an assist as the Toreros improved to 7-1-0 with wins over Portland and Gonzaga at home.
The freshman provided the game-winner in Friday's win over the Pilots. He followed that performance by adding a goal and an assist as USD handed Gonzaga a 4-0 defeat on Sunday.
The freshman forward has made four starts and eight appearances for USD. He's tallied four goals and four assists with a .500 shots on goal percentage and has two game winning goals so far this season.
This upcoming weekend is San Diego's first West Coast Conference road trip as the Toreros travel to the bay area to take on Saint Mary's (3-3-3, 1-0 WCC) on Friday, September 29 at 4:00 p.m. followed by their match against Santa Clara University (5-2-2, 1-0 WCC) on Sunday, October 1 at 2:00 p.m.
