The West Coast Conference announced its players of the week, with LMU's Julie Gallaudet, Portland's Austin Guerrero, and SCU's Dan Knudsen taking home the weekly award.
Gallaudet played a part in three of LMU's four goals on the week as the Lions posted a 2-0 record with a pair of shutouts. On Friday against Long Beach State, it was Gallaudet who was fouled just outside the penalty area, leading to Kelsey Wilson's free-kick goal in a 1-0 Lion win. Gallaudet played a more active role in Sunday's 3-0 defeat of Cal State Bakersfield, scoring once and assisting on another. Gallaudet opened the scoring just 45 seconds into the contest with her second goal of the season. Later, she helped cap three LMU goals in the opening 25 minutes by serving a cross for Kelley Lawson's header. The assist was Gallaudet's WCC-leading sixth of the season, which ties her for fifth on the LMU single-season list. She also moved into a tie for eighth on the career assist list with 10.
Guerrero made ten saves and allowed just one goal during the weekend as the Pilots defeated Cal Poly 2-0 on Friday and No. 17 Creighton 2-1 on Sunday to win the Husky Fever Classic in Seattle, Wash. The 2-0 blanking of Cal Poly is his third shutout this season and the 13th of his career, which ranks fifth all-time in UP program history. He also made a season-high nine stops against the Bluejays on Sunday, including two in the closing minute to preserve the upset.
Knudsen was named to the Penn Invite All-Tournament team. She hit .431 this week, averaging 3.3 kpg and 1.1 bpg, including 15 kills vs. Albany for a career best. She has been a consistent source of offense for the Broncos as she is hitting at a .367 clip on the season, ranking second in the conference.
