SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has announced its men's soccer Player of the Week award-winner for October 3, 2011.

San Francisco junior goalkeeper Brendan Roslund is the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for men's soccer. Roslund helped the Dons to a 2-0-0 start to league play, the best for the program since 2008. Roslund posted an overtime shutout against Gonzaga in a 1-0 triumph in the 2011 WCC opener and made three saves in his second consecutive shutout.
The Colorado product was better against Portland and preserved the Dons' 2-1 double overtime triumph against Portland. Roslund made seven saves - six coming after the intermission - and took control of the back line as the Dons played a man down from the 87th minute. Roslund made three saves in the first overtime. In addition, Roslund collected his second assist in four matches on Vinny Caloiaro's strike in the 19th minute. Roslund is 2-0-0 in WCC play with a 0.46 GAA and has 10 saves on 23 shots.
