The West Coast Conference has named USF senior forward Aaron Chandler as WCC Player of the Month for September.
Chandler paced the San Francisco attack, leading the Dons to a 4-3-1 record and the program's highest national ranking since the 1994 season. The senior helped the Dons go undefeated through the season's first six matches, and got the month of September off to a fast start by assisting on teammate Conor Chinn's first collegiate goal during a 2-0 victory over San Jose State on September 3. Chandler was vital to the Dons' success during a road swing at Penn State, helping USF to a 2-0 victory over the host Nittany Lions and opening up the scoring with goal from eight yards out in a 1-1 tie with Ohio State.
USF earned a No. 8 national ranking from Soccer America following the results at Penn State, marking the program's highest ranking in 12 years.
The 2004 WCC Player of the Year continued to produce on the offensive end the following week, finishing off a cross to net the game-winner in the 87th minute as USF upended Cal State Northridge, 2-1. The Riverside, CA native closed out September in strong fashion, tallying the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Gonzaga on September 29. Chandler wrapped up the month with three goals and one assist, while attempting 17 shots in eight matches.
