Men's Soccer Travels to the Great Northwest For A Pair of WCC Matches

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego men's soccer team (3-6-0, 0-1-0 WCC) take off for their first WCC road trip to the Pacific Northwest to take on the University of Portland Pilots and the No. 25 ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs this weekend.

McFadden and the lads start with Portland on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. from Merlo Field. The Pilots currently have a record of 4-3-3 and a West Coast Conference mark of 1-0-2 for five points and the third place spot in the conference.

The Pilots are 2-0-2 in their last four matches having tied against Gonzaga (1-1) and Saint Mary's (0-0), and defeating San Francisco (1-0). The Toreros are currently on a four game winning streak with a 13-11-3 record over the Pilots. Junior Forward Alex Elliott leads Portland with four goals, four assists, and 12 points.

Following their match against Portland, the Toreros will head up to Washington State to take on Gonzaga University on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Martin Field. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 25 in the nation on the NSCAA poll with a 7-2-1 overall and own a WCC record of 2-0-1 with seven points and the top spot in the conference.

Gonzaga has won five of their last six matches, tying Portland to go 5-0-1. USD is on a two game winning streak over the Bulldogs with an overall record of 13-4-1. Leading Gonzaga with three goals, four assists, and ten points is senior forward George Josten.

The Toreros will look to snap their four-match losing streak with a win from the Pacific Northwest before returning to San Diego on Friday, October 19 to take on Saint Mary's.
