Caso Earns Conference Honors

Oct. 25, 2006

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Michael Caso led the Toreros back into the WCC title hunt last week, scoring a pair of goals and assisting on two additional scores as San Diego posted wins over Gonzaga and Portland on the road. It was the first time head coach Seamus McFadden swept the Pacific Northwest road trip against the two teams.

The senior started the weekend off with a bang in Spokane, netting both of San Diego's goals in a 2-1 victory, including the game-winner on a free kick from 22 yards out. In Sunday's 3-2 win at Portland, Caso assisted on scoring strikes by JT Howlan and Mike Barbeito to lift USD to its second win of the weekend. Caso currently leads San Diego with seven goals and six assists on the season.

USD returns home to San Diego to host a pair of Bay Area opponents as Santa Clara and Saint Mary's come to town this upcoming weekend starting with the Broncos on Friday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Torero Stadium.
