SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University senior forward George Josten has been named to the ESPN The Magazine/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District VIII All-Academic men's soccer team for a third straight year.
Josten carries a 3.83 GPA in civil engineering.
The native of Idaho Falls, Idaho, is tied for third in career goals with 34, for third in career assists with 16 and is fourth on the all-time GU list for points with 88.
Josten, who will now go on the national ballot for Academic All-America honors, was a first-team Academic All-America selection last season after being a third-team pick as a sophomore. He leads the team in goals (5), assists (6) and points (16) this season for the 8-3-3 Bulldogs who find themselves in the thick of the West Coast Conference title race with 12 points. Gonzaga is 3-1-3 in the WCC, four points behind league-leading University of San Diego.
Josten led the WCC in goals and points each of the last two seasons. He was one of four WCC student-athletes on the 11-member District VIII team.
