SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Two West Coast Conference men's soccer student-athletes earned selection to the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 teams as announced by the organization last week. Santa Clara's Kendall McIntosh and San Diego's Julian Ringhof both earned first team honors.

In order to be considered, student-athletes must be a starter of key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or better and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing. District 8 consists of Division I schools from Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

As a result of making the first team, McIntosh and Ringhof are now eligible for Academic All-America honors. Capsules on each Academic All-District 8 selection runs below.

A two-year starter for Santa Clara, McIntosh has collected four shutouts for the Broncos this season, including a scoreless double-overtime draw at No. 1 UCLA. A WCC Player of the Week honoree, McIntosh posted a 3.72 GPA in Finance.

Julian Ringhof has started all of the Toreros' 16 matches and has been a key member of the USD back line all season. Last year, Ringhof was named to the WCC All-Academic team, and has been on the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll the past two seasons, as well as being a two-time All-WCC performer. Ringhof owns a 3.95 GPA in Mechanical Engineering.
