Saint Mary's Wins WCC Title on Final Day of the Season

MORAGA, Calif. -- Saint Mary's College defeated the University of San Diego by a score of 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Saint Mary's Stadium to earn the West Coast Conference men's soccer championship. Jose Cabeza's goal in the 65th minute gave the Gaels a 1-0 lead that they wouldn't relinquish. With the win, SMC claims its first ever WCC men's soccer championship on the final day of the season.

Santa Clara beat Portland 1-0 at Merlo Field on Sunday afternoon to claim second place in the WCC with 22 points.

The NCAA Tournament field of 48 will be unveiled live on the NCAA web site Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. PST.
