SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has named its Men's Soccer Player of the Week for November 18, 2013.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ADRIEN PEREZ, FR., F, LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
Loyola Marymount freshman Adrien Perez is the West Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week. Perez scored two goals and added one assist for a team-high fivepoints as the Lions won their final two regular-season games and clinched their first outright West Coast Conference Championship. The rookie striker came off the bench on Wednesday against San Diego and gave the Lions a 1-0 lead on Senior Night with his ninth goal of the season. Five minutes later he struck again for his second multi-goal outing of the year, his 10th collegiate goal and a 2-0 LMU advantage. After the Toreros tied the score at two apiece, Perez contributed the assist on Pedro Velazquez's game-winner. Two nights later at Santa Clara, Perez led the Lions with seven shots, including five on frame, as LMU clinched a 1-0 victory and the 2013 WCC title.
Perez now has 10 goals and five assists for 25 points on the year as the Lions head to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2009.
