SAN BRUNO, Calif. --Saint Mary's men's soccer gets ready for NCAA Sweet 16 this weekend. The Gaels will travel to Providence, Rhode Island to face Brown in the NCAA Sweet 16 at 2:00 p.m. PT on Sunday.


  • Saint Mary's advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament after winning 2-1 in double overtime at No. 7 UC Irvine last Sunday. Sophomore Justin Howard scored the game-winner in the 103rd minute.

  • Saint Mary's defeated No. 25 Cal State Bakersfield 1-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last Thursday. In the 41st minute, senior Tom Mohoric headed in a free-kick from redshirt-senior Julian Godinez and the Gaels held off the Roadrunners for the rest of the match.

  • San Diego junior MF Dan Delgado was named the WCC Player of the Year. This is the third consecutive Player of the Year honor for the Toreros (Ryan Peterman, 2009; Patrick Wallen, 2010).

  • Portland sophomore Ryan Kawulok is the WCC Defensive Player of the Year.

  • San Francisco junior Brendan Roslund is the winner of the first-ever WCC Goalkeeper of the Year award.

  • Gonzaga's Clark Phillips garnered WCC Freshman of the Year recognition.

  • Saint Mary's Adam Cooper was voted WCC Coach of the Year by his peers. This is Coach Cooper's second Coach of the Year honor. (2009).
