The West Coast Conference was well represented on the All-Far West Region teams released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The league placed 10 standouts among the three teams, more than any other West Region conference.
Five league players were named to the All-Far West Region first team, two more than the next closest conference. WCC Player of the Year Peter Lowry and WCC Defender of the Year Jamil Roberts represented Santa Clara on the first team, while Portland's Collen Warner and Alex Elliott joined the two Broncos on the list. Gonzaga's George Josten rounded out the selections from the WCC on the first team, marking the third straight season that the senior was tabbed for honors.
Gonzaga senior Vito Higgins was named to the second team at the goalkeeper spot, and was joined by three Broncos, as SCU senior Matt Hatzke, junior Jide Ogunbiyi, and sophomore Stephen McCarthy were all named to the second team. San Diego's Colin Jennings was tabbed for third team recognition to round out the league's honorees.
The WCC's 10 players named were the most of the four West Region circuits, edging out the Pac-10 and the MPSF, who each placed eight players on the list. Santa Clara tied with New Mexico for the most players honored, with each program having five players listed.
