Portland Pilots freshman midfielder Steven Evans was one of 24 players called to the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team camp, which is currently being held in Sunrise, Fla. While in Florida, Evans and the U-20's will play a pair of friendlies against Canada.
Evans, a Portland native who was named the Freshman of the Year in the West Coast Conference, was an integral part of the Pilots attack this fall. During conference play, he was second on the team with three goals. Overall, Evans finished with four goals and a team-high four assists.
The U-20's features a combination of nine players who will be making their first appearance in a U-20 camp and relative veterans of the program. In all, the roster features 11 college players and professional players who ply their trade in eight different countries. There are three representatives of Major League Soccer, including D.C. United's Conor Shanosky and a pair of Philadelphia Union players in Jack McInerney and Amobi Okugo.
