Northwestern Deals Toreros 6-1 Loss

(Evanston, IL) - The 42nd-ranked USD Toreros (0-2) dropped their second straight match to open the 2007 season as they lost to No. 56 Northwestern on Friday by the score of 6-1. USD's lone point came from Chris Coetzee at No. 3 singles as the upended Matt Christian in three sets (2-6, 6-2, 7-5). Northwestern earned the doubles point by winning two matches. USD's win came from Jonas Mouly and Charls Wolmarans as they knocked of the doubles tandem of Gomez/Tempke, 8-5. USD lost three of their singles matches in three sets at No. 1 (Thomas Liversage), No. 4 (Ryo Sekiguichi) and No. 5 (Charls Wolmarans).
