USF Men's Tennis Drops 5-2 Battle to BYU

(Provo, UT) - USF men's tennis opened the 2007 spring season at BYU and dropped a hard-fought 5-2 decision Friday afternoon at the BYU Tennis Complex. The Dons (0-1) take on Northern Arizona (0-1) Saturday in Provo. The Cougars (3-2) improved to 16-1 at home since the start of the 2004 season.

Matthew Berry posted an impressive 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles against James Ludlow, while Asaf Cohen dispatched Jason Johnson 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6. Berry and Cohen lost a heated battle at No. 3 doubles.

First serve against the Lumberjacks is set for 10:00 AM (PT).
