Lions Fall at San Francisco

Feb. 11, 2007

SAN FRANCISCO - Loyola Marymount men's tennis dropped its first match on its Northern California swing Saturday, falling 7-0 at West Coast Conference foe San Francisco (2-1). The Lions (1-5) will next face nationally-ranked Saint Mary's Sunday before returning to Los Angeles.

The Lions and Dons played the singles matches first due to the forecasted rain.

In doubles play, Nico Terrien and Jacek Twarowski defeated San Francisco's Rainer Nachbauer and Einar Hart 8-5 at No.1. But the Lions could not get a second win in doubles to prevent the USF sweep.

Things will not get easier for the Lions Sunday, as LMU will face its third-straight WCC match-up against 59th-ranked Saint Mary's. The Gaels will be the fifth nationally-ranked opponent for LMU in the Lions' last six matches.
