No. 67 Saint Mary's Downs Nevada

Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's men's tennis team faced off against the Nevada Wolf Pack today. The match, which was originally scheduled for Noon, was pushed back until 2:00 pm due to the weather. The Weather took a break around two o'clock and the match was squeezed in. The Gaels were able to win the match 4-1 just as the rain was returning.

The match began with singles with the hopes of finishing the competition. The Gaels did their job to keep it a speed match. Joel Kusnierz won his match 6-2, 6-0. Kusnierz has won three straight singles matches. Adam Fauvre followed suit, winning his match 6-2, 6-1. The senior has won three of his last four singles matches.

Yury Platonov competed in his fist singles match in roughly a month. He looked sharp as he defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-0. Alp Ozpinar also won his match in two sets, winning 6-4, 6-2.

Andre Sion was leading his match when the rains came. Sion was unable to finish his match. He was leading 6-2, 1-6, 4-1 when the match was called.

The Gaels will return to action next Sunday when they face off against WCC opponent Portland University. The match will take place at Noon from the Korth Tennis Complex.
