No. 23 San Diego Drops Match to No. 32 Middle Tennessee

FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 23 University of San Diego men's tennis team dropped their match to Middle Tennessee State Friday by a score of 4-2. San Diego is now 7-3 on the season while the Blue Raiders improve to 8-5.

The match was decided by singles due to inclement weather conditions. At the No. 1 spot, Pierrick Ysern, who ranks in at No. 45 in the nation, lost his first singles match of the season to 47th-ranked Andreas Siljestrom by scores of 5-7, 6-3, and 7-6. Thomas Liversage lost at the No. 2 spot to Marco Born of the Blue Raiders (6-3, 6-3) and Oscar Plotnik dropped his match 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 to Kai Schledorn at the No. 3 spot.

USD freshman Ryo Sekiguchi defeated Greg Pollack 6-4, 6-3 in No. 5 singles to clinch one of the Torero's two victories. Jonas Mouly claimed the other San Diego victory with a 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 to Rishan Kuruppu.

The Toreros take on the Fresno Bulldogs Saturday in a 12:00 p.m. match.

No doubles were played due to inclement weather.
