(San Diego, CA) - The USD men's tennis team, for the second straight match, came within one point of upsetting a top-20 program. Today the Toreros dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision to the #11 North Carolina Tar Heels at the USD West Tennis Courts. San Diego had three match points at No. 3 singles for the potential upset, but UNC rallied to send the match into a tiebreaker where Sebastian Guejman dealt Jonas Mouly a 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 (10-5) loss in the deciding match. For the second straight match, Thomas Liversage delivered an upset win at No. 1 singles as he beat 40th-ranked Benjamin Carlotti in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. USD also received singles wins from Charl Wolmarans at No. 5 and Matt Ozurovich at No. 6. USD returns to action on Friday, March 16th, when they host Purdue at 1:30 pm.
