No. 23 San Diego Falls to No. 13 North Carolina

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego men's tennis team dropped their first of eight home matches Monday to the 13th-ranked North Carolina Tarheels. San Diego, who currently ranks in at No. 23 in the nation, stands at 7-4 on the season while UNC remains undefeated at 14-0.

In doubles action, the San Diego duo of Pierrick Ysern and Thomas Liversage rolled by UNC's 4th-ranked doubles team of Raian Luchici and Brad Pomeroy with an 8-3 victory.

The singles ladder saw two Toreros come away with victories. In the No. 3 spot, Thomas Liversage took a 6-4, 6-3 win over UNC's Derek Porter. At No. 5 singles, Jonas Mouly defeated Will Plyler by scores of 6-3 and 7-5. No. 45 Pierrick Ysern dropped his second singles match of the season in three sets to No. 7 Raian Luchici. Ryo Sekiguchi took his match against UNC's Benjamin Carlotti to three sets, but couldn't hold on. Scores were 7-5, 3-6, 2-6.

The Toreros remain at home and face the Utah Utes Thursday, March 16 in a 12:00 p.m. match at USD's West Tennis Courts.
