SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego men's tennis team defeated the Dartmouth College Big Green Tuesday at USD's West Tennis Courts by a final score of 7-0. The 36th-ranked Toreros now stand at 9-5 on the season while Dartmouth drops to 7-6 overall.
In doubles action, San Diego earned the doubles point with wins in two spots. The Torero duo of Pierrick Ysern and Thomas Liversage continued their dominating play with an 8-6 victory over Dartmouth's David Waslen and Steven McGaughey. Ysern and Liversage received a national ranking of 19th and currently own a doubles record of 8-2 at the No. 1 spot. Mirza Koristovich and Jonas Mouly claimed an 8-5 victory over Raj Shrestha and Ari Gayer of the Big Green.
San Diego would go on to sweep Dartmouth in the singles bracket. Senior Pierrick Ysern, ranked 53rd in the nation, downed his opponent by scores of 6-2 and 6-1. Oscar Plotnik pulled off a tough two-set victory over Jeffrey Schechtman (7-5, 6-5) and at No. 3 singles, Mirza Koristovic earned a hard-fought singles victory over Raj Shrestha. Scores went 7-5 and 6-4. USD's Thomas Liversage, Ryo Sekiguchi, and Jonas Mouly all saw wins at No. 4, 5, and 6 singles, respectively.
The Toreros remain at home to face Princeton University on Thursday in a 1:30 p.m. match at USD's West Tennis Courts.
