Toreros Drop 5-2 Match To Fresno State

(Fresno, CA) - The USD Toreros (9-9) dropped their second straight road match with today's 5-2 loss to No. 66 Fresno State (9-7). In winning their 5th straight match, the host Bulldogs won the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3, then won the top four singles spots for the 5-2 victory. USD's two points came at No. 5 singles where Charl Wolmarans won 6-3, 6-4 over Tejesvi Veerepalli, and at No. 6 singles where Matt Ozurovich downed Flavio Mollinedo by scores of 6-1, 7-6. It was Ozurovich's 10th straight win at No. 6 singles, and his spring record improves to 13-2. Wolmarans has now won 8 of his last 10 singles matches. USD plays at Pepperdine on Saturday in a 1:00 p.m. match.
