USF Men's Tennis Shocked by St Mary's 4-3

Moraga, Ca - Saint Mary's Gaels took the first of two meetings 4-3 over the men's tennis team. High points for the Dons were # 3 Doubles where Tommy Tu and Korbi Kramer won 8-6 with strong returns.

At singles position #2, Korbi won a tough grinding match in straight sets over WCC-decorated Julian Tizot 7-6, 6-4. At #3 Falko Huettenberger recorded a straight set victory over Adam Fauvre in decisive fashion. Freshman Tommy Tu completed a sweep for the day, grinding out Achim Christner with pinpoint accuracy 6-3 in the 3rd set. Mitch Del Rosario also showed booming groundstrokes before becoming overcome by cramps.

The Dons look forward to a rematch with the Gaels, this Sunday at Golden Gate Park at 1 pm. The women's team plays alongside the men for a doubleheader celebrating senior day. For Seniors Fernando Rodriguez and Rafael Corazza, this is the last home match day to celebrate their dedicated careers.

Men's Tennis returns to action tomorrow at the Olympic Club at 1:30 against Sacramento State.
